What is Legal Tech?

Legal Tech refers to the technology and software used by legal practitioners and law firms to provide legal services and support their practice. It can be used for a variety of purposes, from matter management, due diligence, document automation, electronic discovery to financial aspects including billing and accounts. Legal tech is now revolutionising the industry and is seeing huge investment. With many law firms now offering a technology-based seat for their trainees.

Why Firms use Legal Tech

Legal Tech is much faster than traditional methods, increasing efficiency. The time lawyers and firms save can be redirected into other areas to promote productivity and growth through new work. Reduces costs. Lawyers and law firms are always under pressure from clients to keep costs low but still stay competitive. The use of Legal Tech can improve a firm’s offerings in an over-saturated legal market and attract or retain clients.
